The centre is opened from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday to facilitate people before and after work. Feel free to call over to view the centre at any time, for any queries please contact 021 4384882.

Appointment can be made by telephone or at reception. Appointments can be made on a self-referral basis, or via your G.P/Specialist.


Prices

Treatment fees at the Cork Therapy Centre are €50 for the initial consultation and any follow ups.

You can assist by

  • Being on time for your appointment.
  • Full payment must be made at time of treatment, we only accept cheque or cash.
  • Making a separate appointment for each person attending.
  • If you cannot keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible.

The best time to telephone about these is between 9am and 6pm, when the receptionist is on duty. Outside these times it may not always be possible to answer the phone, but please leave a message on the answer phone and we will return your call as soon as possible.

Ways to reduce your cost

1. If you register your sports club, you will receive a discount on consultation fees.
2. Recover costs of treatment from your medical insurance.
3. Tax relief is available on all Chartered Physiotherapy costs.

In Your Appointment

Subjective assessment will include questions to determine:
  • The history of the complaint.
  • The intensity, nature and area of pain.
  • The medical history to rule out pathology and investigations completed.
Objective assessment:
  • Range of motion testing
  • Muscle imbalance testing
  • Flexibility
  • Core strength
  • Functional mobility
  • Postural analysis in sitting, standing and functionally
  • Palpation of ligaments, tendons, joints, neural systems, muscles and fascia.
Analysis:
  • In conjunction with co-operation with other team members i.e. the doctor or coach the physiotherapist forms a construct as to the injury and the underlying reason for the above
Plan:
  • The physiotherapist then discusses the plan with the patient to determine
  • The number of sessions required
  • The rehab required
  • Return to sport/work predicted level.
We encourage patients to bring shorts, suitable clothes and trainers when appropriate.

The Cork Therapy Centre is located in Unit 4, Tower Shopping Centre, Tower, Blarney, Co. Cork. It is a purpose designed physiotherapy clinic with an on site air-conditioned gym and rehab area, three treatment rooms, reception area, private toilet facilities and a large car park. This centre combines the expertise of chartered physiotherapists. Mary Gleasure, Eric Wolfe, Michaela Sheehan, Emma Robertson, Claire Griffin are the principle physiotherapist of the clinic.

Physiotherapy provision at the Cork Therapy Centre is aimed at providing hands-on, evidence based treatment with a thorough approach to biomechanical analysis and future injury prevention by chartered physiotherapists.

Eric Wolfe is a member of the Irish Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.  He graduated from King's College London in 1999 following a four-year degree course.
