Doctors and scientists know that with the proper orthotics, many problems with feet, legs, and lower back can be remedied. If you have experienced discomfort or pain, ask your practitioner about innovative and proven Orthotics that provides relief quickly, easily and painlessly.  There is a secret to making orthotics that gives you exactly the right correction- accurate measurements of the way you walk. In the past, doctors relied on plaster casts to get a static impression of the feet. However, these casts capture only the shape of the foot at rest and not bearing any weight.
The Gait Analysis System provides a dynamic, weight-bearing biomechanical patient assessment and enables digital patient data to be transmitted via modem to the laboratory where it is analysed by Metascan. Metascan generates a gait and pressure analysis report containing 2D and 3D colour images of the patients footstep; data in kinetic pressure patterns during the stance phase of gait, and a conclusion describing any biochemical abnormality detected compared to a normal gait values. If an aberrant biomechanical pattern is detected, Metascan also specifies the prescription of the custom foot orthotics.
Diabetic and arthritic patients need to take extra precautions when it comes to foot care.

These complications combined with poor biomechanics can lead to severe repercussions to the health of their feet, including calluses, hammer toes, ulcers, and potential surgery. Screening with the Gait Analysis System helps practitioners maintain a pro-active standard of care for their patients.

Types of specialised orthotic available for sport include.
